AUTHOR: Heather Wright-Porto TITLE: Sunshine Garden - Scrapbook In a Day(Page 1) DATE: 6/25/2009 12:35:00 PM ----- BODY:
I really love this page and the particular designer series paper used (a 6x6 square of the one of the 12x12 sheets that come in the kit).

NOTE: The "hi" are two stickers that come with the kit and I had adhered them to the outside of the protective sleeve/cover!

The actual page consists of the following items from Sunshine Garden Simply Scrappin' Kit as well as other Stampin' Up! product to accent the page and kit:
  1. 6x6 piece of designer series paper.
  2. 3x3-1/2 piece of textured yellow paper, adhered to page using SNAIL adhesive.
  3. A sticker in the upper-right corner ("happy").
  4. Pierce one of the yellow flower stickers with the 1/16" Circle Handheld Punch. Then place a light blue rhinestone brad (Ice Collection, Circle), and a Filigree designer brad.
  5. Adhere the completed flower to the page using Stampin' Dimensionals.

More pages to come soon!

This post will serve as the main page for this project. I will continuously update it will all the links to each post as I detail each page of the project.
We started with a 6x6 linen album (in Natural, shown above). I also used rub-ons from the retired Love & Happiness rub-on set, as well as a large silk flower from the Pretties Kit, a piece of a light blue sticker from the Simply Scrappin' Kit, as well as a Clear Rhinestone Brad. Lastly, the large flower was adhered to the linen album using a Pop-Up Glue Dot.
During the class we made TWENTY 6x6 pages using the Sunshine Garden Simply Scrappin' Kit.

Before Father's Day comes and goes, I wanted to share a few samples that I've created. Unfortunately they all use some of my favorite "retired" stamp sets and cardstock, but I thought you'd enjoy them anyway. My father's a fisherman so I really think he's going to love this first card! My upline shared the idea with me.

Sue McMillen ----- -------- AUTHOR: Heather Wright-Porto TITLE: Thank You x 2 (A Little Embellished) DATE: 6/12/2009 02:40:00 PM ----- BODY:

I had purchased the Thank You x 2 card kit from Stampin' Up! to be able to make cute, fast, easy, but pretty Thank You cards. I like this kit so much that I think I need to order more! The kit comes with the pre-scored, pre-scalloped cards, an Old Olive stamping spot, the stamp set, Old Olive grosgrain ribbon, and Old Olive envelopes.

The card fronts are already done! Yes, the cirlces, the embossed dots, and swirls are already there (Chocolate Chip)! How cool is that!

What I added and did a little differently to add a little something more....
Vertical Layout
  1. In one sample, I added a 1-1/2 inch x 5 inch piece of Kraft patterned paper from the Parisian Breeze designer series paper (DSP) pack. I made the card in a vertical layout, used the retired 1/8" Circle Handheld Punch to punch wholes in all the scallops, and then added the strip of DSP to the right side of the inside of the card.
  2. Stamped the little dots in Old Olive and the small flower in Old Olive in desired areas of the card front.
  3. Stamped greeting in the upper left corner.

Horizontal, Landscape Layout

  1. On the other, horizontal layout sample, I added a 3/4 inch x 5 inch strip to the inside of the card right above where I stamped the greeting.
  2. Only stamped the greeting in the bottom, right, and then the small green flowers every other scallop.
I'd love to see your creations! Buy this set!

----- -------- AUTHOR: Heather Wright-Porto TITLE: Pocket Card - Technique Class DATE: 5/26/2009 06:21:00 PM ----- BODY:

During my last technique class we had prepared a few Mother's Day related projects, one of them being this Happy Mother's Day pocket card.

I used a technique from Split Coast Stampers (Trifold Pocket Card):
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/trifold_pocket_card/

Here is the individual pieces before assembled.

Products Used:

What I did:
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/trifold_pocket_card/

  1. Cut an 8 x 8-1/2 piece of designer series paper.
  2. Scored it at 2-1/4 and 6-1/4.
  3. Turn 90 degrees and then score at 2-1/2. See pieces pictured above.
  4. Cut out the 2 bottom squares.
  5. I used a round bowl to manually trace and cut the rounded edge at the top.
  6. NOTE: Used the same round bowl to manually cut/curve the Whisper White and Chocolate Chip pieced used for the inside (for the greeting).
  7. I then stamped some Baroque Swirls on the Whisper White, then adhered to the Chocolate Chip paper.
  8. Then for the stip, I cut a 2-1/2 inch of Chocolate Chip cardstock, then a 2-1/4 inch piece of designer series paper and adhered to the Chocolate Chip. Wrapped about and trimmed.
  9. Then wrap and cut/adhere the Chocolate Chip Double Stitched ribbon.
  10. Then dyed the flower with the re-inkers and set aside to dry. Use a napkin to dry it faster.
  11. Then use a flower brad thru both flowers (one dyed flower, one large silk flower).
  12. Then adhere the flower to the ban using a Pop-up Glue Dot.
  13. Fold the pocket card at the score marks and assemble all the pieces.

Happy Stamping!

----- COMMENT: AUTHOR:Anonymous Sue DATE:6/04/2009 10:04:00 PM Hi Heather, this looks gorgeous and I love the colours. TFS and thank for all your help on my blog, much appreciated! ----- -------- AUTHOR: Heather Wright-Porto TITLE: Parisian Breeze - Card #3 (April Class Kit) DATE: 5/23/2009 10:55:00 PM ----- BODY:

This card was recently posted during a blog tour (see previous post) however, this post contains the instructions on how to make the card in more details as it is part of my April Class Kit featuring the Parisian Breeze Designer Series Paper and items from the Pretties Kit. It also features Chocolate Chip Wide Satin Ribbon.
As part of the Kit, all the paper is already pre-cut and pre-scored for you! All you have to do is stamp and assemble. Ribbon and clear rhinestone brads are all included in the Kit. The Tearing tool is not.
  1. On the polka dotted designer series paper, punch three holes in the lower right area and then place the 3 clear rhinestone brads.
  2. Adhere this paper to the bottom of the card front.
  3. Stamp images with Chocolate Chip Craft Ink on the other piece of paper using the large swirl and small flower of the Baroque Motifs set.
  4. Let dry.
  5. Tear a corner off the right, lower corner of the other piece of designer series paper (see image above).
  6. Then wrap a piece of ribbon around the middle of that piece and adhere in the back.
  7. Punch a few more holes where you will place 3 more clear rhinestone brads.
  8. Then adhere this panel to the card front.
  9. A piece of Very Vanilla piece of paper is included with the kit and is adhered to the inside so you can easily write or stamp a greeting.
  10. You're done!

----- -------- AUTHOR: Heather Wright-Porto TITLE: Th Blog Tour is Over but Projects Remain....Hope You Had Fun! DATE: 5/14/2009 09:00:00 PM ----- BODY:
Although this past blog tour (May 15th and 16th) is now over, here are the projects that were featured!

Featuring Baroque Motifs Stamp Set

While visiting my stop on the tour you will notice the following samples and projects feature the beautiful Baroque Motifs stampet, as well as the Parisian Breeze Designer Series Paper and the Pretties Kit (all from Stampin' Up!).

This next card is actually Card #3 from the April Class Kit. Instructions and more detail to be posted soon now that the blog tour has finished!

This card can be used for any occasion! It contains small, clear rhinestone brads from the Pretties Kit (or you can now purchase Clear Rhinestone Brads as well and separate from the Pretties Kit), two patterns from the Parisian Breeze Designer Series Paper, Brushed Gold cardstock, the Baroque Motifs stamp set and the use of Chocolate Chip CRAFT ink.

NOTE: I used Craft ink because the Parisian Breeze Designer Series Paper is think and textured and the Classic ink did not show up or stamp well on this paper. The Craft ink worked well - but allow more time to dry!

You may also use the 1/16" Circle Handheld punch or a piercing tool (from the Crafter's Toolkit) to pierce the holes for the rhinestone brads. Lastly the Tearing Tool was used to tear the paper on a slant, however many people can tear by hand beautifully.

This next project is a Father's Day project. It contains many layered background stamps in Chocolate Chip Classic Ink and Blue Bayou Classic Ink (can use Taken with Teal or Baja Breeze or other desired inks). But most importantly it features the Baroque Motifs small flower and swirls in Chocolate Chip CRAFT ink.

NOTE: Again, Craft Ink was used since it would appear darker and more clear on the wooden frame. You can noticeably see the difference between the two browns used - Chocolate Chip Classic Ink and Chocolate Chip Craft Ink.

In the upper, right corner I also used rub-ons (Chateau Bella) as the greeting, however you could also stamp a greeting (recommended in Chocolate Chip Craft Ink).

This cute wooden basket is decorated with Parisian Breeze Designer Series Paper, ribbons, a silk flower and clear rhinestone brad from the Pretties Kit. I stamped the small flowers from Baroque Motifs using Chocolate Chip Classic ink and Blue Bayou Classic Ink, and using the Rock-n-Roll technique. The large swirls were stamped in Chocolate Chip Craft Ink.

The medium flower is stamped in Chocolate Chip Craft Ink on a blue patterned piece of paper from the Parisian Breeze Designer Series Paper pack, and then punched out using the Scallop Circle punch.

The tissue paper is also stamped!!!

This small, 3x3 card is cute and simple. I stamped the swirl and "kind" in Chocolate Chip Craft Ink on top of a floral pattern piece of paper from Parisian Breeze. Then I used a Clear Rhinestone brad and felt flowers from Flower Fusion Too and adhered them to the card front using a Pop-Up Glue Dot.

This card is part of my April Class Kit featuring the Parisian Breeze Designer Series Paper and items from the Pretties Kit. I used a baby stamp from a retired set "Buggies and Booties" but you can really use any stamp. This card also features the Tearing Tool (not part of the kit).

As part of the Kit, all the paper is already pre-cut and pre-scored for you! All you have to do is stamp and assemble. Ribbon and pearl are also included in the Kit.

This card can be done in one of two ways.

OPTION #1

If I sent you a piece of Whisper White cardstock or if you have Whisper White cardstock at home and want your card to "stand" on it's own (I'm using a stand in the picture above), then follow the instructions below.
  1. Adhere the blue/white patterned paper to the Whisper White card front.
  2. You can adhere the 3 white pearls now or later using Mini Glue Dots.
  3. Tear the Sahara Sand piece of paper, then adhere on top of card front.
  4. Tear the large floral patterned piece of paper, then wrap a piece of ribbon around the piece and adhere behind. Then adhere this piece to the card front leaving some of the torn Sahara Sand piece showing.
  5. Then stamp an image in Chocolate Chip Classic Ink on the Whisper White square piece, then layer on the Sahara Sand piece, then adhere and layer on the Baja Breeze piece. Set aside -- this will be the last thing to adhere.
  6. Adhere the triangle in the upper left corner.
  7. From the paper torn from the large floral patterned piece of paper, now tear a small, thinner piece and adhere to the triangle. Then manually snip the edges on a slant once adhered.
  8. Now adhere the stamped image (and layered panel) to the card front.
  9. Last but not least you can either stamp a greeting on the ribbon or use a rub-on as I did above.
  10. You're done.
OPTION #2

This is the original card design that will NOT stand on it's own.
  1. Same as above except there is no Whisper White card. Instead Sahara Sand makes up the main card and is torn at the bottom, front of the card only (that is why the card cannot stand on its own).
  2. Then adhere the small blue/white patterned piece to the bottom of the inside of the card front. Adhere pearls with Mini Glue Dots.
  3. Follow steps 4-9 above.
  4. You're done.

----- -------- AUTHOR: Heather Wright-Porto TITLE: Parisian Breeze - Card #2 (April Class Kit) DATE: 5/13/2009 05:05:00 PM ----- BODY:

This card is part of my April Class Kit featuring the Parisian Breeze Designer Series Paper and items from the Pretties Kit. It also features the designer label silver hodgepodge hardware, bashful blue taffeta ribbon and the Scallop Edge punch.
As part of the Kit, all the paper is already pre-cut and pre-scored for you! All you have to do is stamp and assemble. Punched flower, silk flower, silver hodgepodge hardware, ribbon and pearl are all included in the Kit.

This card has a lot of pieces but not hard to assemble. It's just a lot of little layers and has minimal stamping. You don't even have to have the stamping if you do not desire it. You can instead tie a knot with the ribbon or use Rub-ons instead.

  1. This card is the standard card size, horizontal layout, scored at the top.
  2. Adhere the Sahara Sand small piece of paper onto the floral pattern piece.
  3. Then use the Scallop Edge punch on the blue/white polka dotted piece of cardstock and adhere all the 3 pieces together.
  4. Set aside for now.
  5. Continue by wrapping a piece of Bashful Blue Taffeta Ribbon around the horizontal kraft/white pattern piece of paper.
  6. Stamp your greeting on scrap Whisper White. Line up under the label and trace or be prepared to trip/cut later -- or you can always purchase the Designer Label punch from Stampin' Up!
  7. Place the greeting where you want it over the ribbon/horizontal piece, then use the 1/16" Circle Handheld punch to punch a hole on either side of the label and adhere it using Silver brads.
  8. Now you are ready to adhere the horizontal piece to the polka dotted, previously assembled panel.
  9. Adhere all to the card front.
  10. Lastly adhere the small pearl to the punched out flower using a Mini Glue Dot.
  11. Adhere to the large silk flower, again with a Mini Glue Dot.
  12. Then adhere the large silk flower to the card front using a Pop Up Glue Dot.
  13. You're done.

This card is part of the April Class Kit (Parisian Breeze) and features the large silk flower and clear rhinestone brad from the Pretties Kit, Love & Happiness rub-ons (retired), Baroque Motifs stamp set, Boho Blossoms punch, as well as Chocolate Chip Craft Ink and Cardstock.

As part of the Kit, all the paper is already pre-cut and pre-scored for you! All you have to do is stamp and assemble. Punched flowers, silk flower, and rhinestone brad is also include in the Kit.

  2. Choose a rub-on phrase or image (I used "Friend" from the retired Love & Happiness rub-on set). Rub on the bottom, right area (as shown above).
  3. When the Craft Ink is dried, adhere the diagonal in the upper left corner, leaving a small 1/8" edge (I used SNAIL adhesive).
  4. Punch a hole in the small flower punched using Boho Blossom punch, as well as the larger flower punched.
  5. Then using a Clear Rhinestone Brad, place through the middle of the 2 punched flowers, and then through the middle of the large silk flower.
  6. Adhere the flower to the card front (where desired) using Pop-Up Glue Dots.
  7. Lastly, as part of the Kit, I include a Whisper White piece of cardstock that you can use and adhere to the inside of the card.

The A2 Card Box

This box was created to coordinate with the Trifold Card and ca be used for many things - to hold greeting cards, chocolates, or other treats or small gifts.

This box is really easy to create and you do NOT need a lot of accessories or stamping or hardwork to make it look beautiful.

Here, the following Stampin' Up! products were used:

Hope these projects inspire you and please share with me your samples/versions if you give them a try!

Easter Candy Treat Box for my Daughter

She LOVES Hershey's Kisses and this was the perfect little box for her to fill with just enough chocolate to keep her smiling!

I saw a similar card idea on a fellow demonstrator's website (can't remember who -sorry) with using green paper and then using Paper Snips (scissors) to cut the edges to look like grass. I thought it was perfect for this occasion.

Stampin' Up! Product Used:

I used a technique found on Split Coast Stampers, Triangle Treat Box:
